Open Events

Open Evening

The next Open Evening for prospective Year 7 students will be Thursday 17 September 2026 between 17:00 and 20:00. Further information will be updated nearer the time. Parents and students interested in gaining a place into later years are also welcome to attend. However, please note that this evening is not suitable for prospective Sixth Form students. There is a separate Open Evening held on Thursday 19 November 2026. 

The Headteacher will talk at 17:00; 17:30, 18:30 and 19:00. Tours will be given throughout the evening.

No registration necessary.

Please note that Dr Challoner's High School (for girls) is also hosting their Open Evening event on 17 September. If you have a daughter please attend the High School.

Open Mornings

Open mornings for parents of prospective Year 7 students will consist of a presentation from the Headteacher and a student led tour of the school. Numbers are strictly limited and you are therefore required to reserve a place beforehand. An online booking system for reserving a place will be available from midday two weeks before each open morning. Priority will be given to parents of Year 5 and 6 students. The date of the next open mornings are follows:

• Thursday 15 October 2026. Booking will open here at midday on 1 October 2026

• Thursday 28 January 2027. Booking will open here at midday on 14 January 2027
• Thursday 18 March 2027. Booking will open here at midday on 4 March 2027
• Thursday 1 July 2027. Booking will open here at midday on 17 June 2027 (Priority will be given to parents of Year 5 students.) 

The Headteacher's presentation will start promptly at 9.15am. Late comers will not be permitted entry.

Please note that there will be no parking available on-site; please use car parks in Amersham or public transport if possible. Amersham Station is a 5 minute walk from the school.

Sixth Form Open Evening

The Sixth Form Open Evening for students interested in joining the Sixth Form in September 2027 is on Thursday 19 November 2026. This event does not need to be booked in advance and is open to all interested prospective Year 12 Sixth Form students.

The evening will run from 17:00 - 20:00. There will be talks in the main hall at 17:00 for current Dr Challoner's Grammar School students and at 18:00 for external students. Information on how to register for a place in September 2027 will be updated on the Sixth Form Admissions page here in November 2026.
