Year 9: Plas Y Brenin

Embarking on a five-hour minibus journey, 12 Year 9 students, including myself, got ready for what would be a week full of challenges, laughter and a lot of rain, given that we were travelling to Capel Curig, the UK’s wettest village!

We stopped off along the way to Zip World, home to the world’s fastest zip line, to indulge in a two-hour-long cavern expedition, testing both our mental and physical capabilities.

Once we arrived at Plas Y Brenin National Outdoor Centre, we were met by our group leaders, who were highly trained in mountain safety. Activities we did included Gorge Walking, Abseiling, Indoor and Outdoor Climbing, Canoeing, Nightline, Hiking, Picture Coasteering and a trip to the beach!

The facilities were fantastic, as well as the food and guidance from both PYB and DCGS staff. A big thank you to all the staff who made the visit possible.
