Science Museum for Year 8

On Friday, 22nd May, the Year 8s went on an educational visit to the Science Museum in London in order to help us explore the history of medicine and the people who help develop life-changing technology.

We started the day at the IMAX theatre watching the brilliant movie A Beautiful Planet, discussing the International Space Station and our world filmed entirely from space. Narrated by Jennifer Lawrence, we enjoyed the climate change section and the section on how important international cooperation is when it comes to the ISS.

After lunch, we explored the museum, starting with the Technicians Gallery, which illustrated the vital people who helped our world become what it is today. This helped us understand what they do and how it helps us solve issues like climate change. Lastly, we visited The Wellcome Galleries, showing us how medicine has developed over the years and how this has helped save lives. Overall, this presented a brilliant opportunity to learn about the world around us and show us important career opportunities, opening our minds to the future.
