MUN Conference at Bede’s

On Tuesday 14th October, eight Challoner’s students went to a Model United Nations Conference, taking place at Bede’s Senior School in Kent, with the Best Delegation Award coming home with us!

It was a brilliant experience as well as a great opportunity to showcase how amazing DCGS students are. With the perfect balance of delicious food and lively debates, we didn’t have a dull moment throughout. As delegates, we got to express our views and challenge those from other countries while defending our positions.

The debates themselves were a real highlight, with lots of involvement from most delegates. One of my personal favourite moments was creating a motion to protect the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which focused on the importance of protecting these sites for future generations. Seeing different countries debate this issue and adding their thoughts and ideas was also incredibly eye-opening.

Overall, Bede’s MUN was an excellent trip that allowed us to develop our confidence and debating skills whilst allowing us to explore key global issues which impact today's world. Being able to return home with the Best Delegation Award makes the whole experience even more rewarding and means everyone involved has achieved something exceptional. We had such a memorable trip that showcased the very best of Challoner’s, so thank you to St Bede’s for hosting, and to all DCGS staff for organising this once-in-a-lifetime event.
