Just One Charity Day

On 4 February 2026, DCGS held a non-uniform day to raise money for charity. For the princely sum of £2.00, students could wear their own clothes, with all proceeds going to charity. This was a success on many fronts, with over £2000 raised in total. It was also an excuse to show off your most obnoxiously coloured clothing and pester those who forgot and spent the whole day in their blazer and tie.

We were supporting Just One, a charity that plants trees to improve our environment. Trees benefit us massively as they absorb carbon dioxide, filter air and water, and improve the condition of soil - a vital piece in the jigsaw puzzle that is our environment.

For every £1.00 donated, one tree gets planted around the world. So far, Just One has planted over 5.5 million trees over the past six years, which equates to two per minute. The charity plants trees across 17 areas of the planet, with sites in Brazil, Peru, and Bolivia, for instance. If you’re feeling generous, click here to donate a few pounds to help improve the environment and protect the Earth’s - and humanity’s - future.
