Business

Please note that Business is only available at KS5 (Years 12-13 A-Level)

Students are required to have gained at least a grade 6 at GCSE in a Humanity (Geography, History or RS)

Business at DCGS follows the AQA (7132) specification which is 100% examined. In the first year of the course students will develop knowledge of business, management, leadership and decision making in the functional areas of business, with study of strategic decision making in the second year of the course building on the study of decision making in the functional areas.

Business models, theories and techniques are complemented with contemporary case studies and examples to provide a dynamic, engaging and relevant course which promotes the development of highly sought-after transferable skills. Students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to analyse data, think critically and make informed decisions - all skills needed for further study and employment.

Question papers use a variety of assessment styles including multiple choice, short answer, data response, essays and case studies. Real life case studies are used to make it easier for students to relate to and apply their knowledge and skills developed throughout the course.
