This year, our very own Gardening team, here at DCGS, finally got to work on their dreams of making an allotment area for the school. The allotment, located behind New Court, is currently still under construction; some elements already built such as beds, and a fence around the area in order to secure it from animals!
Mr Burn and Mrs Sealy, our supervising adults, got to work in October, with much help from students in the team. Before long, they had already cleared out the area and began to start working on the allotment itself.
Soon, two beds, a third on its way, were in place, and in the early Spring of 2022, the team began planting various different vegetables, such as onions, radishes, carrots as well as multiple others.
Some potential thoughts of this project in the future include chickens, benches, flowers, decoration and much, much more.
